Physical activity is essential to combating chronic disease, maintaining functionality throughout the lifespan, and can be used to re-engage the community. Please visit the physical activity resources below to find a program that is right for you, your church, and your community.


Not sure how to start?

Here are a few tips to consider when promoting the following programs within your church and/or community:

1. Create several adult walking groups within your church and compete for a prize.

2. Create adult and youth walking groups within your church and compete for a prize.

3. Create walking groups within your church and compete with the community.

4. Create walking groups with a spiritual/religious intent.

5. Complete 10-10,000 as a group to allow for accountability.

This program will help you progress across 4 stages within 100 days to reach physical activity and nutrition guidelines. 

Walk Across Texas! Adult

WAT! Adult is an 8-week program that encourages adults to be more active. 

Walk Across Texas! Youth

WAT! Youth is an 8-week program that encourages youth to be more active. 

Walk Through Texas History

WTTH is a 4-week program that encourages activity while walking through Texas history.
